La Isla Tasgarabi (una reorganización de las sílabas de Garabitas, el principal cerro de la Casa de Campo) es un trabajo de juego y ficción. Para trasladar la estética de la fotografía de principios de siglo, utilizo una cámara de gran formato Linhof Super Technika IV y disparo placas de 4×5 pulgadas.

Recorro los caminos ya familiares, buscando encuadres y posibilidades para alimentar la ficción de una isla por descubrir. La naturaleza de las imágenes que busco me lleva a avanzar en el proyecto en los meses de otoño y primavera, cuando los paisajes son verdes y frondosos.

The Tasgarabi Island (a rearrangement of the syllables of Garabitas, the main hill in Madrid’s Casa de Campo) is a work of play and fiction. To bring in the aesthetics of early twentieth-century photography, I use a Linhof Super Technika IV large-format camera and shoot 4×5-inch sheet film.

I walk the already familiar paths, looking for frames and possibilities to feed the fiction of an island yet to be discovered. The nature of the images I am after leads me to work on the project in autumn and spring, when the landscapes are green and lush.
